Oakdell Motel

When I first got to my room I was impressed because the AC worked great and the room seemed clean and nice looking. However looks can be deceiving!! Upon closer view with my eyes, I noticed that the TV and it's stand were really dusty, among a few other things in the room. The windows near the door were very filthy! I HAD TO KILL 2 BIG FAT COCKROACHES that were crawling across the floor, after I took a nice hot shower in the crammed little bathroom space; In which the toilet is literally right next to the shower. There is nowhere to put your shower stuff in the shower, so I had to get creative with my stretchy necklace, rubber bands & a plastic bag for my soap; and put my shampoo on the toilet lid. It was conveniently located, clean and pool was very usable. Was actually a little impressed and expected worse. Office was unmanned at arrival and took a few minutes to track someone down to check in, Went smooth after this. Spent a few hours in pool area in the afternoon and it was very nice. Grounds are very well kept and surroundings are nice. On a major thoroughfare so you can expect traffic noise if you open your window in the room, was not bad with windows closed.

This place is warm and welcoming. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and supportive, as I have back issues and I have had no backache. The water pressure in the rooms is very strong. You can really enjoy a good hot shower. The microwave and refrigerator are perfect for that in between time. When you're on a trip or you need to stay. Somewhere for a week or two to relax and de-stress...and there's ample room for parking.

Awful small nasty hotel. Took my deposit saying I threw out the towels. Is that even grounds to do so? Worst stay I’ve ever had and overpriced

Another wonderful stay at the Oakdell Motel! We have been coming here for the last three years. Clean, comfortable, renovated room! The owners are very friendly and very helpful. It’s perfect when we come down for the beach or Mystic Aquarium.
