North Haven Hotel

While the room was basically clean the rest of the property is absolutely filthy. Trash stuck in the bushes, the lighting outside is laying on the ground with exposed wiring and my feet actually stuck to the floor in the elevator.

The hotel is nice, with friendly staff. It could use a little refresh but overall nice. Heated indoor pool, complimentary breakfast, restaurant attached, etc.

I am not usually a person who leaves bad reviews, but with my experience with this hotel, I feel it’s important for me to warn people . The front desk ladies were really nice and helpful. We even bonded about nails, but the room overall was really dirty. We found a huge bag of trash behind the chair and when we handed it to the cleaners, they didn’t say sorry or anything they just took the bag and said OK which surprised me. The hallway smelled like pot. The smoke detector in my room was missing. The pool was so foggy when you start swimming in it you couldn’t see your own feet. But what really made me want to write this review was what happened during the night. There was a fire alarm that went off because people were smoking in the hallway. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to step back in time without the need for a DeLorean, the Clarion in North Haven has you covered. Walking into the lobby, you get the sense that the décor hasn’t changed much since shoulder pads and perms were in style. The fixtures and furniture seem to be hanging on for dear life—like they know retirement is coming but just aren’t ready to let go yet. The rooms themselves are... fine. Not terrible, not great. The entrance lobby was bright and welcoming, and the young lady on reception (8/4/25) was pleasant and welcoming.||The room was nice and clean but the swimming pool needs some attention. The sign says shower before entering, but the shower didn't work. The paint is flaking off the pool, and the cloudy water didn't make for a great experience.||Overall, a pleasant stay, however, the thing that spoiled it was, despite being a no smoking hotel, the stench of weed in the hotel corridors and particularly from one room. We mentioned this on check out and were told that although it's a no smoking hotel, sometimes guests break the rules. Shocked by the response and the fact that staff seemed neither surprised, concerned, or willing to deal with the issue. Perhaps the occupant was a long-term hotel
