Clarion Inn

I’m 2 days into my 6 day stay and the only reason I gave one star is because the room was clean at check in . There are pieces of the ceiling in the pool and it looks like it’s still falling in . Both the pool area itself and the pool are freezing as well as the hallways . Entrance “A” door is supposed to be key card access, yet it doesn’t lock it makes me feel a little unsafe . I asked about turning up the temperature in the pool area in which one of the staff responded they will ask the maintenance man and nothing has been done about it yet. Very disappointing definitely doesn’t look like the pictures won’t be booking again. That’s for sure

The hotel needs work. Its a step above a motel 6. The beds were clean. The carpets were NOT. There was mold on the window sills. The toilet paper holder was coming off of the wall. We never had enough towels, even if we asked. The cleaning service never came to clean our room rooms. The pool never had any towels and when we ran out of toilet paper, we had to call twice the second time the desk asked us to please go down and get it ourselves. The pool also had paint floating in it that was coming off of the pool deck. Overall, I would not recommend staying here. Hotel staff did not seem to care about the towel issue in our room was never cleaned.

Positive: The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Greeted us each day with "Good Morning". Helped with any questions. The location is ideal for me. I come to visit my mother who only lives a mile away. Negative: Complementary breakfast was not the best. Eggs appear to be powdered. Sausage hard. Not a great selection of cereal. Rugs are worn. Found a green, mold like substance on the side of the bureau between beds. Toilet seat stuck open under shelf.

When I arrived at the door to my room, the door was not closed. The only reason I carefully entered the room is because I was not alone (my 2 daughters were with me). After entering the open room and verifying that no one was in the room I observed that drawers were open and there were no bath towels. In addition, the neighbor on the other side of the wall had their TV so loud that I could clearly hear it through the wall. I tried to call the front desk a couple times and the phone just rang and rang. I went down to the front desk to address the issues listed above. The gentleman was really nice but did not seem to see an issue with fact that the door to the room was not secured, he brushed it off as "oh, housekeeping does that when they are cleaning the rooms." Not bad value and good location. but saw bug in room, Room not well vacuumed, and beds not made everyday. Every 3 days is no longer standard industry practice for the amount charged. Also most desk clerks were friendly but one balked at charging water drinks to room. Finally fitness center weights are broken. Fix this before someone gets hurt.
