Norridgewock Hotel

A regular favorite, my soul is replenished in places like this...off the beaten path, remote. ❤️ The only downfall anymore, but not unique to this place, is the noise from recreational quads, side by sides, whatever you call them... They're intrusive to the desired quiet of beautiful remote spaces. JMO

If you are looking for a unique Adirondack experience that doesn’t involve tents, hard sleeping surfaces, or heavy backpacks, then you have to visit Beaver River! The Norridgewock River Boat - a large enclosed pontoon boat - will take you to this water-access hamlet from the public dock on Stillwater Reservoir. At the dock in Beaver River, a small bus will drive you the one mile distance to the Norridgewock Lodge where you can enjoy lunch and drinks at the family-run restaurant. I just went there this week and had a great day. Everyone from boat driver to bartender were welcoming and friendly. Lunch was tasty - feta/blueberry/pecan salad and chicken cutlet sandwich. Even with eating lunch, we had time to explore the hamlet before the Norridgewock River Boat returned to “the mainlan

An experience like no other. I've had the privilege of eating here twice, both times arriving by canoe from Stillwater Reservoir. It's a lovely location with friendly staff and charming decor. I love the historical components, be they photos dating back years or rustic artwork on the walls. The food is great, too, made all the better by experience getting there. Someday, I'll be back to enjoy a room as well. Until then, highly recommend this establishment, whether you get there by boat, ferry, snowmobile, or other creative method.

Been going up to Beaver River all my life (53 years and counting!), and the Thompsons (owners of the Norridgewock) have always been a highlight of every trip! If you've never had the chance to visit remote Beaver River and the wonderful Norridgewock hotel, you're absolutely missing out! Put it on your bucket list and GO! There's no place like it!

Great staff is friendly and accommodating. The location is the biggest draw. To get here is part of the fun. There are no roads into town. So, hike or boat in the summer or snowmobile or ski/snowshoe in the winter. Once you're here, food, drinks and the outdoors. They have kayaks that guests can use to explore the Beaver River area, and nothing but a simple portage over a road and an unused railroad to get there.
