What we loved: it’s a quiet town aside from the train. It’s clean. It’s very convenient to pull in late night, drop box provided with an envelope too. $25 for electric, dump station, and a good night’s sleep. Level cement pads, and water available at each spot.
it seems like your going nowhere until you cross the train tracks and see beautiful manicured grass and a water park and baseball fields. 25 bucks in a envelope and you have a beautiful campsite with a walking trail behind and the locals are friendly. The fireflies light up the sky at dusk, yes the trains blow their horns but we slept well. We really enjoyed our stay and will stay there again.
I did give 4 stars until water sprinklers came on. I was tearing down, had drill out, tubs out ooen and trying to disconnect hoses and power. Everything soaked. And now I want to go, my power surge protector is getting soaked. Do the water at night or early early morning. Trains. We had, what seemed like, non stop trains blasting their horns at night. The train tracks are about 1/4 mile away. That said, we did sleep, but it was disrupted. The park is great, well maintained, flat concrete pads with water & 30/50 amp. There's a small disc golf course, Horseshoe (not sure about the shoes), swimming slide (check operating hours), playground and a nice long path (might need bug spray). Dump station by pay station. Pay station, grab envelope, fill out, pay and push through slot. Doesn't
Very very nice! There is only one other camper here. Local pee wee football practice happening. Nice walking path, horse shoes, playground, swimming pool (not open off season), and bathrooms. The dump station is free for permit campers. This is the nicest city/county campground I have been in!
This place was a wonderful mid week find! Going cross country we needed a place to stay for one night that was close to the highway. We read the other reviews about the airport and the trains but we happen to love both trains and planes. The planes did not fly after sunset so they weren’t flying late at night or anytime at dark. The trains did go by but didn’t bother us. It’s as fun to see them go by out our back window. Easy to pay, just pick your spot, fill out and envelope and pay at the restrooms drop box. They have dumpsters (that were packed.. you can tell many people dump here that aren’t just staying at or using the park itself). The spot was back in and had water and electric which was perfect for one night. The space is paved but not long enough to fit your tow vehicles so our tr
