Muley Twist Inn

WOAH there!!! ***Pull over the covered wagon and check out this*** Let me be perfectly clear, we had the sweetest time at this place. Our group had a “Friendsgiving” here. We had the main house and yurts/tepee’s. Accommodated our group so nicely. Host had all the details and directions lined up for us. Incredible memories made :)

Muley Twist is perfectly placed away from the noise. There was plenty of room with a comfortable bed. Beautiful views and bright stars on clear nights. The host was perfect giving us our space or engaging us with wonderful stories. The breakfast muffins are the best!

The Muley Twist is one of my all time favorite vacation homes! Beautiful views! Relaxing environment!.. my goodness their porch is to die for! Minutes away from hiking trails, mountain biking, four wheeling, lakes, and more! This is truly a magical place, many more visits to come!

What sets this place apart from other hotel options in Capitol Reef is its integration with nature. Driving by other hotels in the park, you can see they are cookie-cut from standard commercial molds. By contrast, the Muley Twist Inn rests seamlessly in the crook of a sandstone ridge, which, if you scramble up it, rewards you with extraordinary views of the red-stone Capitol Reef cliffs. The owners and managers are avid climbers and highly responsive hosts, and the amenities in the rooms absolutely delight. My favorite moments involved sitting on the porch, eating my dinner, and watching the weather move across miles of parkland. This feels like a genuine retreat from the world!

This is a great place to stay when visiting Capitol Reef National Park. Penny Kinsman, the innkeeper, has hiked and explored most of the park and offers first hand information on the best features, hikes and destinations in the park. We really appreciate Penny's extensive library of books, maps and nature guides that are available for guest use. The Muley Twist Inn is spotlessly clean and contemporary, the food is superb and the ambience and friendliness can't be beat. This was the second time we've stayed at the Muley Twist and we'll return again. The nearby Fish Creek pictographs and the drive up the Burr Trail Road switchbacks to the Upper Muley Twist Canyon trailhead were two highlights of our most recent visit to the Muley Twist Inn.
