Mountain View Motel

Wow just wow. Love this place! Cute and very clean property off the main road, but close to everything. I am always somewhat leary about who will be at the front desk checking us in... But not here! We pulled up, parked, and who is happily greeting us as she's walking to the office? Sally. Talk about a wonderful check-in experience! Sally was so very nice, professional yet personable, and such great energy. Room is newly updated, modern, and very clean- love the LED lighting! Property is nice and quiet, with absolutely no riff-raff. This is most definitely our place to stay when traveling through Bishop. Thank you Sally, and Mountain view Motel!

Positive: Newly remodeled room was perfect for our overnight stay. Well lit, comfortable with mini fridge and microwave. Located off the main highway so was very quiet. Negative: One very minor thing: no soap dish in the new shower. That's it.

Stayed here because of the over-8 rating on Booking.com, but was disappointed. The hotel appears to have been newly renovated, but the features made it spartan and unappealing. Room lighting is now LED strips that run along the corners of the ceiling and the floor. While dramatic, this light is insufficient to really work by. The other light in the room is a weird spiral LED lamp that throws off unshaded light (and in many different colors, should you be in the mood), but is also not good for reading. There is no desk; my king room had a chair, ottoman, and small circular table with no chairs. There are no curtains--just a window shade (which was great for keeping light out), and no carpeting, so the room has a very sterile appearance, and on cold mornings just makes you shiver. The

Disgusting place. There is nothing positive to say about this motel at all. Manager was very abrupt with my wife when we arrived, so not a good start. Room floor not clean and the shower and towels were hideous. How you get towels to go that colour is beyond me. The breakfast was fit for a dog and the eating area dirty. Told the manager exactly what I thought and he didn't seem concerned. If minus stars existed they would have one. In hindsight I'd have rather slept in my car.

Really liked the remodeled property! Its looks from the outside can be deceiving, but the rooms are spacious, clean, and better than many hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Lighting is really nice inside, huge flatscreen with access to major streaming services. Only gripes (minor): Coffee maker was a bit hard to operate; nearby high school Friday night football game can be loud for people who are sensitive to sound; walk to downtown is about 15 min.
