I love Mountain Lakes! Unfortunately, across from the entrance, there is a wilderness area where normally you could go for a stroll, sit for a picnic snack and even walk in the stream if you’d like and not only was it closed and extremely dangerous due to the recent storm, the fence had come down as the straight stream turned to a winding river and pulled the foundation down. Luckily, it did not destroy the road there. I am sure it will be back up in no time (the fence) but hard to say when and if the walkability will be restored since many residents have hopefully been made priority in that area! Mountain lakes itself is fine, people were still catching fish and if you make reservations, the road leading up to it will say “closed” but that is for non residents and those unfamiliar with th
We stay in or Trailer when we visit Mountain lakes, the kids love running around, swimming & playing the adults love how relaxing it is to just sit in a chair or ride our e-scooters. Then at night the adults enjoy the bar! Beautiful place.
Beautiful campground. We come many times throughout the year. Many activates however they are not very diverse. Halloween time is fabulous. They absoutly need to level out all thier sites. That would be my biggest issue with this place. Also they need to stop allowing small campers into the large sites. There are alot less long sites and when you have a reservation but there is no site long enough avaliable that is compleatly unacceptable. I have traveled the United States my whole life and many campgrounds make sure they have a site avaliable or pre selected and saved that is for your specific length of trailer.
Been a member for many many years. They are becoming insane with the price gouging of members. It's getting ridiculous. 750$ in quarterly fees, cable got put into most every site now and you are forced to pay nightly for it even if not used. 30$ per night for an extra car. 20$ a day just to drive your own golf cart around the park, The list goes on and on. Members currently forming a class action against the park. They make it impossible to stay a member and impossible to sell your membership. Please do your research before buying into this place.
Super fun! Plenty of activities for the kids. Sometimes there's even a wrestling show on Labor day weekend. Had such an amazing and memorable time. I can't wait to go back!
