If you are looking for peace and quiet off the beaten path in the foothills of San Bernadino Mountains, then this is your place. The grounds have been hit pretty hard with recent flooding. We never actually saw anyone that worked there. We had what we needed except for dependable WIFI. Unfortunately we only got to actually stay in our RV the first night. Due to heavy rains we were not able to get up to the park during the weekend so ultimately we had to pay twice (Campground and hotel). So, watch the weather reports before booking unless you aren't worried about any of that stuff!
Unfortunately this campground was disappointing. We arrived around 2pm and all of the trash cans were overflowing. The bathrooms were dirty and the permanent residents were very shady (I'm being nice). I would not visit this campground again. The hike up to Bonita Falls was great! I give that a 5/5 stars but that is accessable from the main road with plenty of parking.
We have known Bonita Ranch over 25 years, we spent many family and friends weekends together with the Bonita Ranch family. Approximately 6 years ago we moved to the long term side, and continue our stays to this day. Love the place and all of the staff from the owners all the way to the crew. Joe (manager) has always done everything he can to help us out, including things that aren't in his scope of work. Our hats off to you!
It's nice, especially if you like bears. There was a young bear (teenager) not cub, right across from our campsite, it was kinda cool to see a real live bear, scarry at the same time, (I didn't want to take the garbage out to can ..
So breathtaking and peaceful. Bathrooms and showers are always clean and stocked. Showers cost $1 (quarters) for 15 mins, not bad and the water doesnt get cold like you would think it would. Joe is always very welcoming and helpful which is not common these days. If your hiking to the waterfall make sure you start out early enough for you to make it back before dark, but if it gets dark on you remember to just follow alongside the stream and you'll make it back.
