Mount Charleston Sledding Area

I love that this place is FREE, with that being said if you want to take your family here I would recommend going in the early hours. We got there around 1:30pm and it was packed, parking is limited on the weekends and be careful of cars backing out and ppl crossing the road. No bathrooms but other than that it was very fun.

First time at this spot, usually we stay at the bottom of the mountain by the Lodge, but this spot is the GO-TO! Great slope for sledding. Accept some Donkey took a Shovel and make a dip hole causing kids to get hurt when the sled went thru it. My child and other smaller kids were hurt and also left because of the injury ☹️ But other then this, parking is very little, so you snooze you loose if you don’t find one. People took, chairs, speaker for music and Great Vibes.. Enjoy

It is a good place to take your children to play in the snow, to slide and relax a bit and have contact with nature. It is easily accessible, there are bathrooms available and rangers everywhere, always willing to help. You do not have to pay to tour the mountain or for parking. There are no gas stations on the mountain but going down there are several available.

This was a great spot for sledding and walking around to check out the area. I absolutely loved it and all the mountains surrounding the area as well!

If you live in Vegas or your want a refreshing change of pace from the typical Vegas vacation, it is SO with the drive to go to Mt. Charleston. It's beautiful, smells good, and if you go on the summer you *might* get to see some of the wild horses that live there!!! There are quite a few places to stop, hiking trails, picnic spots, and campgrounds. It is about 30° cooler than the valley and is mountains terrain, so maybe bring a jacket depending on the time of year and leave the flip flops behind. It is so worth the drive!
