Motel 6 North Sioux City, SD – I-29 North

Definitely do NOT recommend. Our room wasn't ready for us 2hrs after check in. Manager on duty didn’t even try to see how far the room cleaning had gone, just kept telling me to come back 20min later. Switched rooms because I couldn’t cancel the reservation. Whole building smells of cigarette smoke, even our non-smoking room smelled. Beds uncomfortable, no remote for the tv. Not in the best part of town.

No amenities whatsoever! Not talking about luxuries, but Kleenex and shampoo would be nice. We left at 7am without a shower; and not even a cup of coffee in the lobby. |One star above “Terrible,” just because the room was clean and conveniently located off I-29. The hosts were accommodating, and didn’t charge extra for having our dog along.

First, the person working the front desk was passed out asleep and I tried to wake him up by shouting “hello” but he wasn’t roused. Finally someone came from somewhere to check us in. Second, the room had a musty odor and the room wasn’t very clean. Stains on the chairs, no shampoo or conditioner, only soap. No tissues. The heater cycled & after cycling made a noise every single time. No security lock on the back door so anyone could have walked in. We will never stay in another Motel 6 again. Apparently they don’t have very high standards even for a lower end hotel.

Absolutely insane price for a little motel 6. They try to keep up with the prices around but it’s disgusting and disappointing to take advantage of people just because you own a hotel. The price is just out of line for them having no breakfast or even coffee. The pool is shut down. After reading reviews thoroughly I expected the pool to be open and running but it’s not. It’s just stagnant water. There were no noticeable bugs but my kid woke up with 2 swollen bites on her arm. So glad I didn’t bring in all my linens and clothing. It was easy to get in and out tho and they do require a 50-100 deposit depending on whether you have a pet or not.

I do not recommend it not because of its conditions but for the treatment of the gentleman of the reception despite being of legal age he is the most rude, racist and very disrespectful it is my second visit to this motel and I felt indiscriminate, threatened I can't explain I don't understand why? When I paid for my reservation and I was very quiet in my room. And that man yelled at me and told me that he would call the police for no reason. The truth is I don't know how people with such a lack of education can work in a place like this where the basis is the treatment and attention to customers
