Motel 6 Gatlinburg, TN - Smoky Mountains

This was our first and last time staying. We went down parade weekend and the place we usually stay didn't have a room to open to add to our stay since I booked it last year. Upon arrival I went in the office and waited 15 minutes for a maintenance man to tell me that check-in is 4pm and that nobody would be at the front desk until then. It was 3, so interesting but whatever. The entire hotel is run down, the carpet on the stairs in the lobby is absolutely disgusting. While sitting in the parking lot before check-in police cars came rolling in and then ems. It is however not too far from the strip, still a little walk but not bad. Positive: The location was perfect, the first night the staff member he was very welcoming and nice and was very helpful Negative: they do not offer do not disturb signs, the second day my key card wasn't working only to find out it was because when housekeeping left, they didn't fully shut the door all the way, the floor of the room was dirty, and a stain on one of the bed sheets

We stayed here because we travel with our dogs. I scoff at paying exorbitant fees for our dogs to travel with us when my dogs are cleaner than most humans, so the no fee part is a big draw. The good parts: The location is great. The trolley literally stops at the edge of the parking lot. We felt very safe and we even spotted a bear 3 mornings on his daily dumpster diving rounds. Now the bad: The rooms are not the cleanest. We didn't feel comfortable walking bare foot in the room. When I showered, I used the towels under my feet until I got dressed and the towels were nasty from me scooting across the floors. There was definitely a smell. Bear Paw Lodge Cabin in Gatlinburg||While the cabin is beautiful with stunning views, our stay from 12/8/2024 to 12/12/2024 was disappointing due to several issues that reflected poor maintenance and care. The property manager offered excuses and showed little concern for our experience.||Major Issues:||Hot Tub: It was cold upon arrival and unusable until the following day.|Cleanliness: The air return vent by the door was caked with dust, and the floors were dirty with dust balls and rug fibers. Rugs were unvacuumed, with crumbs and tripping hazards.|Kitchen: The oven didn’t work, and while a replacement was delivered late into our stay, it was no longer useful. I gave one star because the room had bugs and insects flying around. I do not think they use any pest control company to come and spray in the room. I paid appx 170 dollars per night there. For that money I would atleast think there wouldnt be any bugs in the room sleeping with me. Well i did manage to get rid of them my self. Front deak service is ok. They were there to just do their job. Location is good because its 4 min walking distance from downtown. I would not stay there again.
