Motel 6 El Monte, CA - Los Angeles

There were some OK aspects of the stay and some terrible ones. I will say the staff was great thru it all. We’ve stayed at motel 6 many times and it’s a budget decision as with most people. Recently we found the chain too have made some renovations which was nice. The El Monte location is right in the heart of the business district next to community center, police station, new developments and target. So a good location to work with. The owners however treat it like it’s in a crime infested area. The check in procedures were atrocious! It’s midnight on Christmas Day and we had two rooms and they made all of us get out of our cars to show ID. I’ve never had that before and know it’s something this facility does. We needed an animal friendly solution during our sudden evacuation from the first night of the Eaton Fire and this hotel was inexpensive and allowed large dogs. ||We originally thought we would have 2 older adults with mobility issues with us and had booked 3 rooms as a contingency plan as the fires got closer. Once the winds picked up and the evacuation orders came out we were able to find a safe and more comfortable solution for the other 2 folks in our party and their small dog. The two women who checked us in at the front desk understood our situation and contacted their manager after 11pm when we checked in to refund the other two rooms for us due to the circumstances, which was very kind of them.||The staff was compassionate and understood we were in a crisis, which is more than I ca

Does the job, I needed a place to stay since the storm on the east was messing up my plans, booked here a few minutes before showing up and got to my room fast, this is near that I-10 highway so you can get places fast and it’s close to public transport as I walked 10 minutes and got on the train to Hollywood. If you want glamour stay somewhere else, If you want a comfy bed, quiet and a comfy indoor temp, pick here. The lady at the booth was very pleasant too.

This is not the place you want to stay. I was told that I couldn’t extend my stay because a staff accused me of taking off my clothes outside, I wear short on under my pants and sometimes takes them off. They were shorts not my underwear. I also got told I couldn’t extend my stay because I was dancing and shaking what my mama gave me outside. If you decide to stay here, remember you can’t have any fun or they will start writing notes and hating on you. I followed all the rules of the motel. The staff are just bullies and like to nit pick.
