Holiday Inn El Monte - Los Angeles, an IHG Hotel

Centrally located, I had business all over LA visiting friends and attending a trade show. Everything in LA is an hour to anywhere, so this was convenient for me, it was little out of the way, but for peace of mind it was just right for the price. 24/7 security at the front door was a nice touch. I was in and out for 5 days while there. The lobby is spacious and inviting. They had breakfast but it was paid only, nothing free, which wasn't a big deal for me. Front desk was always courteous and helpful, room was quiet and clean, plenty of space to work, wi-fi was free and fast, bed was spacious, warm and comfy, and shower was always hot. It was on a quiet section of Valley Blvd near the 10. At night no one was on the road. 7-11 was 2 minutes away on foot. Parking was plentiful and free. They

Hotel is very nice. Clean and well kept. Staff were friendly and prompt service with check in and out. Room was clean, the beds were comfortable...... The were to bad things about our stay. One is the shower pressure could be a little stronger and more light in the restroom. The other is the walls are thin and can heat everything. Which the occupants above us, you can hear them running and jumping, making it hard to sleep. Would recommend to ask for a room on the 3rd floor. Overall would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat and will be coming back

Most of the hotel experience was just fine, but the breakfast was terrible. Avoid the restaurant at all costs. We had breakfast vouchers with our stay, assuming it would be a typical hotel continental breakfast. Definitely not as advertised. The “orange juice” was “sunny D” the “breakfast potatoes” were very greasy tater totes and the “ham” was highly processed deli meat like baloney. Really shocked at the breakfast food quality for $15. Everything else was fine but the Chinese restaurant attempting to serve breakfast brought the whole experience down to one star. My room was quiet, but a coworker had very noisy neighbors playing music and singing until 11:30pm.

In terms of locality to explore the attractions of LA do your research to fully understand accessibility to transport networks available- we were able to access all relevant transport networks to enjoy LA. The hotel is well presented and generous room size. Staff were pleasant. The con was lack of coffee facilities which was available in the room but was out of commission,this was reported 3 times but to no avail- tried getting coffee from onsite restaurant which is subcontracted out- absolutely rude and lack of Hospitality. Enjoyed our stay.

We were there for six nights. We had an accessible room. When I first arrived they gave me the incorrect accessible room but we’re great about giving me the correct room. The room Was spacious and easy to access! The hotel is beautiful. My only complaint is housekeeping is by request only. However it says after the fourth day they will do a full service. We left about 930 and I told the front desk that we needed service and would be back between 3 and 4. She said she’d make sure we had the full service before we got back. We came back at 3:45 and the room had not been touched. We asked for service. And all we got was new towels and trash taken out once the entire stay. I am glad they had a large trashcan by the elevator so that we did have a place to put our trash each day.
