Moonshadow inn

I had a deeply disappointing experience at Moon Shadow Inn and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere. The Food: To say the food was "terrible" is an understatement. It was poorly prepared, lacked flavor, and definitely did not justify the price. It was one of the most underwhelming dining experiences I’ve had in Pennsylvania. The Atmosphere: As soon as you walk in, you’re hit with a heavy, persistent smell of mildew. It’s everywhere—in the common areas and the rooms—making the entire stay feel unhygienic and uncomfortable. Overall Impression: Between the poor maintenance and the subpar kitchen, this place is a far cry from a welcoming inn. There are much better, cleaner options in the area. Save your money and stay somewhere that actually values quality and cleanliness.

My family and I visited Moonshadow Inn in Beach Lake, PA for Labor Day weekend.||The Inn is wonderfully restored and very comfortable. Our rooms were all very comfortable. I really enjoyed the interior decoration done throughout the Inn. I especially enjoyed the full bookshelves in all of the guest rooms.||Looking around the Inn it's very impressive, all of the fine detail work done throughout the common areas, dinning rooms, and guest rooms.||The dinners we had were very tasty. We had the shrimp, scallop over rice (I chose that over the pasta option) & the salmon with asparagus dinner. ||The bar area is very comfortable & very attractive with all the obvious care put into the restoration work. ||Last, but certainly not least, Phil, the owner & proprietor, his Chef, and the dining room/bar

This is a hidden gem. We spent one night on our way home and it was a great experience. Moonshadow Inn is a 200 year old Inn formerly called The Beach Lake Hotel. The owner is an antique collector who has restored the building and furnished it with his collection of furniture and art. Even the room key that he handed me is the original key from 200 years ago. We had a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed, the bathroom was small but clean and all that we needed. Do yourself a favor and get there in time to have a drink and dinner in the restaurant. You'll hopefully get a chance to talk to the owner and maybe a few locals. If I'm ever back in the area I will definitely return.

Haven’t stayed at the Inn yet, but we went to the bar downstairs after my cousin’s wedding. Beautiful decor; you can tell that a lot of work went into creating a welcoming and fun space. The owner was very accommodating of our group, and the bartender Kim was a rockstar. I’d give it a 6/5 stars if I could. Amazing time.

Phil has turned this historic location into an amazing place to stay. The rooms are cozy and full of little bits of history and paintings. The cool factor was the 200+ year old skeleton keys. My family will definitely be back again to explore more of the Inn. 19/10 Recommend ❤️
