Moonrise Resort

Used to stay here years ago. Wanted to revisit but cannot find rental information or current availability. Looks like most of Florida, big business comes in squeezes what used to be great options out. To bad for this once awesome place!

We needed a quiet place to escape the everyday world. Base on the reviews I read online, this seemed to fit the bill. We arrived to find a very clean and comfortable waterfront cottage as described. We were on the lake, near the marina and next to a large fire-pit area. The view was superb....beautiful trees lined the lake. We were warmly welcomed and all of our questions were readily answered. We were referred to local places for meals (all excellent). Our cottage had a fully equipped kitchen but we opted not to cook. ||Rowboats and canoes were included in the rental and pontoon boats are available to rent at a fair price. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the nice fire pit due to the "burn ban" in Florida. (drought)||We plan to return! Moonrise Resort was exactly what we needed!||The

It USED to be great, helpful friendly staff, other campers would socialize around the firepit or go for boat rides on the lake... However, new owners bought the place now it sucks. They raised prices across the board. All the spots were raised overnight & Now they want 1300 monthly For the same cabin that was 450.! Made all these new rules that promote isolation. Not the homey/friendly it once was, sad.

This place was great to stay at. My brother and I were visiting through Floral City. What a great view right on the lake. The stars at night were nothing I’ve ever experienced. Stacey was really sweet and checked us in with no problem. The cabins were cute and clean. The place smelled great and had no complaints. The bed was really comfortable and I liked that it it had a kitchen and living room. I enjoyed the patio at night too. I would recommend this place to anyone who is traveling through Floral City.

I wouldn't even give them 1 star if it wasn't necessary to write a review. I live in VERY close proximity to Moonrise and the new owners are a joke. All they are doing is raising the prices of everything and running all the older/fixed income folks out, folks that mind you have been there for years. Getting with the state and county to see what can be done about them. Not getting permits for repairs, taking parking away from people that have no driveways, charging for boat slips now when boats use to be able to be parked on property. My family has been VERY close to Moonrise for over 30 years, the idea that the new owners will make Moonrise a 5 star resort is a joke. I stand with all the current residents that are left!!
