Visited for the beach/pond. The beach itself is small, but well maintained with plenty of green space, and bbq areas. The water is warm, and there were plenty of ducks running around when we visited. The kids at the beach lived chasing the ducks, who seemed to love playing with the kids as well. The bathrooms and showers are very clean. The showers themselves have hot water that is the standard button-press system. The stalls are individual stalls. I can see there being a wait on a very busy weekend, but didn't need to wait myself. We took a drive around and the campsites looked to all be well maintained: level with nice fire stations for your grilling needs. Plenty of water points. The attendant at the front gate was incredibly nice and helpful. He genuinely seemed like he enjoyed his
An amazing campsite! Bathrooms are clean, individual private showers and beautiful sites, some with entrances to the pond. Not too far is a state forrest with great hiking. Totally recommend for some off grid time (there is absolutely no cell service)
We had a nice time all week until our last night there. The pros are that you get clear night skies, it's pretty quiet other than listening to the peepers serenade you to sleep. We had very successful fishing in the pond and were able to have a fish fry at camp. They provided a firepit that was like a fireplace and it had a grate that flipped down you can put your pans and coffee pot on. ||||The not so great, someone ransacked our tent, tearing apart all our bags and bedding and throwing all our clean and dirty clothes together on the floor and blankets in the dirt. It made thingd super stressful our last night there because we were upset about having been violated and having to talk to police, but we also had family coming to visit and see us off and we were having a cookout. It was a lot
This NYS state park is a real gem of a campground in a beautiful location. The paddling here is fantastic and the scenery is gorgeous. You can launch at the small beach or right from your lakeside campsite. The campground has hiking and mountain biking trailheads at its north and southeastern edges in numerous directions and for many miles. I prefer the former as the southeastern trailhead leads right away to some very wet patches. If there is sufficient snow, this is a good place for XC skiing (though again, avoid the wet eastern edge of the pond). However, one warning is that they are very strict about the entry time and will turn you away if you arrive late. Then there is really nowhere to go in this remote area. A second is that when the campground is open, they charge non-camping visi
Lovely campground with nicely spaced, mostly wooded sites. ❤️ The lake is great for paddling and fishing (no motors allowed). There's a swimming area for those who want to do that (leave your inflatable at home). The showers down by the day use area are fantastic. Bathrooms in each loop have flush toilets and a sink. Maintenance staff does a good job of keeping things clean and stocked. There's a trail around the lake with plenty of other hiking trails that connect. There are no hookups for RVs, which we don't mind. We used a collapsible water jug to fill up 5 gallons at a time as needed and have plenty of battery power. Staff at the check-in booth are very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. As with most campgrounds, the only real problem is the people who don't understand or don't ca
