Missouri River Lodge & X-Stream Fly Fishing

I can’t speak to the fishing, as we were here for waterfowl hunting, although we saw plenty of people on the water. The fall colors, river and mountains were spectacular. We stayed in the bunkhouse, which was very well apportioned. A nice kitchen with all the amenities, two bedrooms, bathroom & shower, a large living room with a pool table, a don’t want to get out of it couch, a TV and lots of big game and waterfowl mounts. Bring your own food and drinks. There are NO grocery stores nearby.

Seriously the best time ever. I'm an ocean gal. That's where I live to fish. This was my first fly fishing experience. I am now a fly fishing kind of gal. I would jump at the chance to come back. Lindsey and Joe were absolutely wonderful. Our guides knew what they were doing and they were good teachers. I caught tons of fish everyday. Montana is beautiful. The lodge was not just comfortable but just like home, if home had tons of taxidermied fish and animals. 😂🤣😂🤣 I wanted for nothing. Plenty of food and drinks whenever I wanted or needed it. Lindsey and Joe visited like family. Large TV and massage chair after a long day of fishing. Rooms were perfect for escaping or napping. Everything was decorated in a super cool way. I have fly fished all over Europe and the US and this is hands down the best lodge I have ever fished with. I took a friend and we had the distinct pleasure of getting to fish with Joe Bloomquist, who is by far the best guide I have fished with. He knows the river inside and out and will put 100% into making sure you catch fish and have a great time. Once we were done hammering the Rainbow's, we went back to the lodge and were greeted by Lindsay, who is simply put...THE BEST!! She is an awesome cook and is so hospitable. This was my first time with Missouri River Lodge but I can guarantee you it will be a yearly trip from now until I'm dead. We had a group of 3 fathers and sons in the bunk house for 3 days of fishing. The first two days were wonderful. The third day we went to the Land of Giants. Joe was our guide. The fishing was excellent, with lots of big fish being caught. Joe did a great job and worked hard to get us on fish. Joe, however, is a first-class jerk. He was borderline abusive to my son, yanking the rod out of his hand and yelling at him about his technique. He spent much of the ride to the boat ramp complaining about other clients. He made a great fishing trip unenjoyable.

We just returned from fishing with Missouri River Lodge folks and their excellent guides...It was a fabulous experience...guides were so helpful...Lindsey is a beautiful, creative chef with an engaging personality. Rooms were comfy and well appointed. There were 10 in our party and we all rebooked for next year! Betsy S.
