Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dickson City/Scranton

I almost don't want to hype up this spot too much and keep it as a secret,=but it should be known. Been here a few times over the years, so I have a good gauge on consistency and quality from here now. Place is great. Staff is always friendly, if you have an issue they will fix it right away (special thanks to Diva). More importantly the price is the best in the area for what it offers. Rooms are clean, the grounds are well kept and not run down. It's a good vibe with the people who stay there, and it's in an amazing location. So close to i81, and down the road from every store you can think of and a mall. My stays there have not been noisy, have always been clean, and they offer online check in now so it's super convenient to check in. Love this place.

Comfort for the money very good. Slept great, in fact better than some higher class and much costlier place recently. Tricky to find entrance to property. Breakfast below average. Hotel check-in staff excellent. Would stay here again for the money every single time if I could.

Positive: Convenient process and friendly staff. Negative: Though the rom was visibly clean the carpet did not "feel" clean.

The young woman at the front was very pleasant and helpful. We came in last minute due to a storm causing issues for us to continue traveling back home. She got us into a room which we were thankful for. Price for one night was pretty high for the place as it was rather run down. The lobby area was t bad. However, the room we received was very outdated and smelled awful. There were stains all over the bathroom sink and the floor was dirty. Carpets were extremely old stained and filthy. Cushion on bench area and chairs were disgusting. Upon pulling the sheets back there was something crawling on the bed at first I thought it was a bed bug but it was a spider. Still creeped us out. Couldn’t sleep at all bc I was grossed out at that point and felt I needed to stay awake and alert for my kids

Hotel advertises "Free Wifi" but the speed is 1-2Mbps (speed tests came back as 0.74, 1.29, and 1.55) AND you must sign-up for their rewards to access it; if you want faster internet you must pay an additional $5/day. The hot water in the shower literally ran out and went cold. This morning, breakfast was very minimal and, despite having waffle irons on, there was no batter available. For $100/night I feel like I'm being robbed.
