Memaloose State Park

The park itself is beautiful with some great views of the river in a few spots and if it was located anywhere else I'd like to stay again. However, I-84 🚚 🛻 🚛 🚒 🚚 is just a few short yards away on your left & then on your right just a few short yards away is the railroad tracks 🛤 Both are heavily traveled day & night and even though we were in our travel trailer, the traffic & trains were pretty loud. The 3½ days we were there we also had the pleasure of listening to a few campers barking dogs every time someone either drove or walked by their camps and they would lose their shite while they were passing. Yet as always with our state parks, it was really pretty & very well maintained by some really friendly camp hosts and State Park employees.

Pros: Gorgeous view! Very clean and spacious ground. Bathrooms and showers are decent. Cons: Sandwiched between a highway and railroad means there is a constant noise. Only accessible from the highway westbound, which means anytime you leave and return it will be at minimum a 10 mile round trip. Unique: Railroads are on both sides of the Columbia River. Watching trains run from across the river, especially at night, feels really special.

Great rest stop! Really cool history! Would recommend stopping here as well!

This is one of the most beautiful rest stops in the state of Oregon. It is well worth stopping at, if for no other reason than to stretch your legs and enjoy the views.

Beautiful spot to stop and rest westbound on I-84. Restrooms. Outdoor picnic tables. Paved walkways to get out and stretch. Points of interest with markers.
