Stopped here during a trip but didn't camp. Didn't know it was a campground either. Nice views all around. You can see the outline of the sierra from here
McPherson campground is not really accessible to any vehicles and has no actual sites. This is a site more for backpackers traveling along the longer trails. That being said, the views are amazing from the area. McPherson peak is right above the area and there is a lot of equipment up there for cell towers and such. That isn’t as cool, but the views are pretty rad. You will need 4x4, water, and gas. It isn’t right off the highway.
