Beautiful overlook just off of the Escalante Pueblo trail at the Canyons of The Ancients National Monument. A great place to stop for a picnic lunch or just to sit and take in the view of the reservoir. The hike is an easy 1/2 mile paved trail that leads from the visitor center parking lot.
A short spur trail brings you to a majestic overlook of the McPhee Reservoir. There is a small shelter providing shade and i don't imagine the lake was here when the Pueblo was active but it's still a nice view.
We loved this place, but when I google it, the pin sends me to a residential area, specifically a house at the end of the street. Go to the McPhee Campground instead, and you’ll find the correct location of the overlook.
