Marston Welcome Center & Rest Area Southbound

I love to stop here with the kids. This place is always clean. The stuff about the earthquake is very interesting and it has a small museum as well.

The Marston rest area was a delight as far as rest areas go. It was clean. Plenty of restrooms. The inside was educational, air conditioned and had snack options to replenish your road food. We sat at a little picnic area outside and had a lovely little labyrinth where you could chill out and get a few steps in. Always a good option on long road days. Take a risk and go through New Madrid to get to this gem if a highway pit stop.

Really nice and safe rest area with bonus interesting earthquake information! Be sure to check out the side room with some additional information on the history of Missouri and the big quakes along the New Madrid fault! Even the outdoor lighting has seismograph readings in the design. Definitely worth the stop!

Terrific welcome center as they go. Seem to be getting better and better. This one has a lovely artistic and interpretive element. From Mississipians to Mounds to tugs to New Madrid and more. One of the best playgrounds my toddler has EVER encountered. She didn't wanna roll out and Mama made a gillion pics for our mySpace. Lovely bathrooms, well-attended, prison mirrors, energy dranks, Petsi products, pay phone, keurag cups in the vendin', and plenty a wiggle space. Great stop. Danke, Mizzou!
