We walked through the door and it felt like check-in was already handled quick, smooth, and led by staff who were naturally warm and efficient. The whole stay had that rare everything just works vibe: a clean room, a calm atmosphere, and no little annoyances to deal with. Breakfast was genuinely good fresh, filling, and a great start to the day and the quiet street outside meant we slept straight through without any noise. For the price, the comfort and service felt like an absolute win, and I’d happily book again.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but our recent stay at the Marriott in Saddle Brook, NJ was extremely disappointing. I was traveling with my wife and two young children, and the experience fell far short of what we expected—especially as a Bonvoy Platinum Elite member. First, the room we were given was not the one we originally booked through the Bonvoy app. They informed us they were sold out of double bed rooms. There were four of us, yet we were placed in a room with only one king bed and a single rollaway bed. That was already inconvenient for a family of four. Later that evening, things became even more uncomfortable when four intoxicated men repeatedly tried to enter our room. They attempted to open the door three separate times and were banging on it while yelling. With two you
Paid for a high floor king room with M Club access. ||Received a double bed room on the 6th out of 12th floor. M Club had two huge Starbucks machines that looked awesome but BOTH out of order. ||Rooms were basic, small and very little sound isolation. Could hear people and housekeeping throughout the stay. ||Food and service at the restaurant/bar was surprisingly great. ||Would not return or recommend.
Chef Ray is a wizard with vegetables! We tried the entire vegetarian menu and every single bite was delectable. The flavors were bold, the presentation was artful, and it didn't feel like anything was 'missing.' Waitresses Susana and Sharlyn were very accommodating and pleasant each time we visited the kitchen. They were attentive, communicative and worked tirelessly through the snowy day to appease customers. Manny was charismatic and observant--giving us a warm welcome when we arrived at the hotel.
Check in was fine. The room was average. As bonvoy elite member, we haven’t been upgraded in over 2 years so we’ve been exploring other hotel chains after being with bonvoy for many years, our room was on the 8th floor. We’re always on the 12th floor. No big deal, no reason to complain. Room was fine, clean. After dinner, we returned back to the hotel with family members for a drink to the bar. The bartender was very unfriendly and started locking the cabinets before 9 PM on a Saturday evening and abruptly gave us our check well four of us and three other patrons were sitting at the bar. He did not even say thank us for our tip which was generous and not well deserved. Never had this issue when Paul was tending bar. We travel to Jersey every month to visit family & sad,y, Saddle Bro
