Marin Suites Hotel

Travel Nurse (hubby). We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and cost of this hotel! Its an older property. Accept that, and then this place really stands out. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped for longer-term stays. The common areas are very well maintained and offer beautiful spots to relax, swim, or enjoy the large hot tub. Will definitely stay again!

Good: Very big suite, very comfortable, all equipped. Decent kitchen, with everything we needed for a week’s stay. Clean and comfortable beds.||||Bad: We noticed only one flaw: the soundproofing wasn’t very effective. We heard almost everything from the other rooms close to ours. Especially from the one above us. ||We couldn’t locate the origin of a very disturbing noise during the night that seemed like an engine or a compressor. I spoke with the attendants at the reception, but they couldn’t help (or they didn’t want…). Initially we thought it was the heater of the above room, but we couldn’t confirm it.

No concerns with service - friendly. Externally and the inner court of the hotel looked fine. Stayed in a suite…upon entering the room there was a very old building musty smell lingering ( despite some windows were left slightly opened when we arrived). Dropped off luggage, opened the windows wider, turned on the air conditioner, and left the hotel so that it aired out. Came back to the hotel 5 hours later to the lingering old smell, but not as strong. The hotel seems to be a renovated apartment building. Our “suite” was a one-bedroom apartment with an attempt of repainted walls to make the place look current and up-to date, but the choice of carpeting and furniture seatings was a reach for maybe a 50’s contemporary look. We received good service, the room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also appreciated the comfortable beds and convenient location. The only minor issue was a late-night security visit regarding noise, but overall our experience was pleasant and enjoyable.

Ever since finding this hotel it's been my go-to when staying in the Bay Area. Whether it's a show at the Fox in Oakland or the Civic in SF; I like the convenience of being just right across the bridge. However, there is no BART station in Marin Co and unless you want to take a very long and sporadic ferry ride across the bay, you're going to have to drive into the city (or uber or ghost car). Otherwise, the location is pretty great. Right off the 101 and right next door to a small shopping area with an ok coffee shop. The several times we've stayed here we've gotten a two bedroom suite, which feels like more like a small apartment. One bedroom has two queen beds (the other has one queen), a large living area, small dining area, and kitchen. The pool and hot tub are an added bonus, and the
