MainStay Suites Newberry - Crane

I gave this score because the first room the front desk, lady check me into was full of bugs. There were bugs in the air unit, windowsill, on the carpet and crawling on the wall. She was nice enough to come up there and clean them up. But I left out for dinner and came back and there were more. So I went back down to the front desk and was moved to a room on the second floor. That room was a whole lot better no bugs, but it was not cleaned up properly. The front desk lady came in and cleaned up the chips on the floor picked up stuff off the floor. The refrigerator was not cleaned. It had stuff wasted in it.I was very appreciative that she went to that extent.

The owners need to start doing some maintenance on this property PDQ!! The employees are excellent, the location is great for the base, but things are starting to get broken and are NOT BEING FIXED! The luggage carts are turning into garbage, they have needed new wheels for a YEAR now!! We personally have complained multiple times this year about them and NOTHING has been done to fix the situation!! Try actually running this hotel, that means you need to FIX THINGS, not just ignore everything while a great hotel Falls down around your employees heads!! This has been one of our favorite hotels, and we sincerely hope the incompetent owners start rectifying the maintenance situation!!

Conveniently located near NSA Crane, with and excellent breakfast. However, the elevator broke down due to water leaking into the elevator shaft and the room's mattress was too firm and uncomfortable.

Everyone was lovely! Denise in getting us set up in rooms after having to reschedule to a different configuration. Kelly was really nice as well and pleasant. Really enjoyed our stay.

Michael and the front desk staff are awesome. Always willing to help you if you have a question or a problem. Really nice sized rooms and a really good breakfast. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is due to the housekeeping (or lack there of). I have been here for 2 weeks now and my toilet and shower have not been cleaned once. I am on the extended stay side and they only do a deep clean once a week and then a light clean about 4 days after that. When you only deep clean the room once a week it is very important to make sure you actually clean it. The lady that does the light clean came in when scheduled and did a great job. The one that is responsible for the deep cleaning should probably be fired.
