Lydia Mountain Lodge & Log Cabins

We had our wedding & rehearsal dinner at Lydia Mountain Lodge in January 2025, and it was truly magical. Joshua was our day-of coordinator, and he was extremely professional, kind, and happy to work with us. I can’t tell you how happy I am with the team at Lydia. They even kept my unruly in-laws at bay, protecting my vision for my wedding day. We had around 65 guests at our wedding, but there is definitely enough space for larger weddings at the lodge. The space is absolutely gorgeous and it felt like a winter wonderland theme for us.

We were so taken with the beauty of the surroundings, the peacefulness, and the thought that went into decorating the room according to its theme. We only stayed once night but it's worth going back and spending more time. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend.

We stayed in the three bears cabin. Fantastic value for the price. It was a really peaceful setting. The cable in the basement wasn't working and the view from our balcony wasn't quite as good as the listing made it seem, but those were so minor it didn't detract from the rest of the experience. Easy access to Shenandoah National Park, Charlottesville, and wineries.

Drove around to check area cabins, lodge, and restaurant. Beautiful area. All information is online. No paper copies available, so look online. Restaurant closed on Wednesday's. I have been reviewing a few years, but haven't booked anything yet. The lodge had better mountain views than the cabins, but there seems to have been more and more improvements over the years.

I want to start by saying the cabin itself was visually stunning. It is a beautiful structure in a great location, which is why we were so excited for our New Year’s getaway. Unfortunately, the aesthetic was completely overshadowed by a total lack of basic habitability and safety. The Reality: No Working Heat in winter Weather! Despite the cabin's beauty, the outdoor temperatures were between 25-35*F and the inside was 51* when we arrived. We followed all radiator instructions, but the system failed. We contacted management multiple times via VRBO and phone, but they didn’t respond most of the day.
