Lowe Hotel

Stayed here while doing my rural health rotation while in nursing school back in the late 1990s. It was old with creeky floors, the bed was old with squeaky springs, but it was lovely....as if stepping way back in time. Far from modern, but a fine experience. I loved it. Hope they are restoring it.

As this is a historic haunted hotel, I expected to be able to explore this hotel. Instead the owner, father, and brother live on sight and want this to become an artistic experience! If you want to experience art this is not the place to stay! It’s old and out dated! The door needs to be locked with a Skelton key from the inside what a fire hazard! The old extension cords in the room are also a fire hazard! We were told we were not able to leave our room or the hotel after 10 pm or we would be locked our or kicked out! Horrible treatment by the owner and her brother! We have come multiple times to experience the haunted place but will never give them my money again! Hope someone buys this place so we can stay again to ghost hunt as we have experienced ghosts in past!

We were interested in this place as its basically in downtown point pleasant and is supposedly haunted. However, when we were trying to book online the people refused to get back to us. We found a better hotel (Hampton Inn) and stayed there. However those who run this hotel wouldn't let anyone in and kept locking the doors for "outsiders" to stay out even though it is a tourist location. Felt really out of place and not welcomed and they gave us dirty looks. Definitely not staying there ever especially if they're too snobby like that.

I also made reservations in March for a room on June 6. I spoke with the owner who was happy to take my card info in spite of the 12/6/23 stop work notice posted n their vestibule and the inspection failure previously mentioned. My daughters and I drove over six hours to have fun at the Mothman museum and haunted Lowe hotel only to find a closed sign on the door and nowhere to stay. No attempt was made to notify us either by phone or email. I can only assume that one of the ghosts pranked us with reservations because no business owner would be so irresponsible.

This hotel is BEYOND amazing. You need to be a person who appreciates the historic value - or even like ourselves, the art. Visit the art gallery within. Visit the bar area when Ruth is available to mix you up a wonderful drink. Explore the common areas (during reasonable hours) and take in a bit of what the place was like in the early 1900s. They've done extremely well in keeping things as original as possible. Many rooms have a skeleton key for entry and each are unique in their own way. The location is right on Main St., convenient to most Point Pleasant attractions. You cannot achieve better than The Lowe by any stretch. We have come to adore the owners/manager. If we could, we would move right on in to share in this dream. Listen folks, it is breathtaking! Whenever we come to Point Pl
