We needed a place with hook ups and propane for our virgin voyage with the new-to-us travel trailer. The staff were super helpful when we needed a refill of propane or when I had other questions. The restrooms were clean and easy to access. The little dog park was perfect to let my furry friends get some off-leash time. We don't have kids but that playground was so nostalgic! I haven't seen a slide like that since I was probably 11 or so. Location was good overall, although a little noisy because there are so many truck stops right at that exit. Lots of food options and Walmart was a short drive down the road to grab some other essentials. Would definitely stay here again if passing through.
This campground is a great stopping point during a long road trip. The camp was clean, the spots were a good size, and the owners have animals (goats & chickens) which my daughter enjoyed seeing. The electrical hookups are towards the front of the campsites, so beware of that if you have a longer RV with the cord in the back. I just had to pull forward close enough to hookup to it and I was still able to keep my truck attached without blocking the road.
Lost Hills KOA is definitely more of a pit stop than a vacation destination. It's conveniently located right off the freeway, making it an easy overnight stop if you're traveling through California. The staff is friendly and the sites are straightforward, but there isn't much in the way of scenery or activities. You'll find the basics-full hookups, a pool, and a small store—but it's not the kind of place you'd plan to spend several days relaxing. Perfect for a quick rest and recharge on a road trip, but not really a campground for a long stay.
We had an emergency- AC went out and we were traveling with pets we needed an emergency spot to land for the rest of day. Marisol was kind fast and helpful. She even brought us ice water and let our poor dog lay on the cool tile floor in the office. Beyond that the pool was clean as well as the showers and restrooms. Not fancy but well run and nice flat spaces for the RV. Thank you for helping us save our dog. 🩷
There is an Indian food truck right near the office. I give that 5 stars! It was nice to be able to get dinner right there on the premises. The food truck is open at 9am, so we went back and got another meal for the road. We stop here every year. It's quiet. The showers are dated, but the water is nice and warm with good water pressure. I love to visit the goats that live alongside the property. Lost Hills KOA is always a pleasant stop for us.
