Looking Glass Basecamp

I don't know what this place is going to be. It looks like it has camping options. Then it seem to be and old restaurant that went out of business. Don't expect any service here. They didn't even have a menu. On the other hand side, I saw people crashing on the floor. What is this place? What really got me off is the collection of old used trashy hiker shoes hanging out in the kitchen. I cannot recommend this place unless you go for some trashy long distance travelling and you don't have any standards at all.

This place is totally LUNAtic!!! I walked straight to canada to get away from here. Maybe I should have walked to mexico, since I ended up here again a couple of days later... Next trial. No service, they have permanently ran out of huckleberry pie, but have cute kittens.

I cannot recommend this hotel/restaurant at all. Most guests are asked to sleep on the floor in the same room or to bring their own tent and sleep outside. Also, no menu and no servers. You have to cook your own food so you might as well stay home. If I could give this place negative stars I would. No spa services either. Stay way!

Just the facts. This business is a rest and resupply stop for backpackers who are hiking the continental divide trail from Mexico to Canada or vice versa. If you don't have a trail name, a need for someone to hold a resupply box, or travel with only one pair of underwear, you might not have an appreciation for the available accommodations. But, if you have been on the trail for 80 to 100+ miles, it will most likely will serve you well.

If you love hiking, sleeping on the floor, and mingling with other hikers, this is the place for you. Hospitality is top notch. Even got to take a hot shower!
