Lively Acres Campground

A new campground that is literally growing into itself (new trees and bushes) set within an organic farm's land. Great location in between Traverse City and Glen Arbor, and their Neighborhood Market is absolutely awesome! You may find yourself there at a time when they have a unique, shared dining experience, as I did. Indian cuisine. Spectacular food and company. The management and employees were awesome and I felt entirely welcomed. The only aspect I missed, and longed for, was a shower, or at least an inside sink with some hot water as I was camping in a tent. I'm hoping they install one before I return!

We stayed for 3 weeks in our 42’ 5th wheel. 50 amp service was reliable on our super spacious and level pull thru gravel site. Water and sewer not yet available at time of writing but we were able to fill our fresh water onsite and get pumped by a mobile service. Call the camp host Patricia for tons of helpful information on this. She hooked us up big time and got us all situated even though we have never dry camped before. The biggest highlight of this campground is that it offer an absolutely amazing farm market onsite with fresh local food. Everything you could want - meat, eggs, milk, veggies and fruit and pantry goods. Even really tasty heat and eat options. We have never eaten so well while camping. Very clean and quiet campground! We rolled in later in the evening- we liked that they had the option online to book a site even with the office closed. The host was very friendly. Shopped at their market in the morning, had a great, wide variety of fresh grown produce! Also, nice and close to sleeping bear dunes.

Quiet, rustic, well maintained and centrally located. We had a great time. Nice fire rings with grill grate, picnic table was solid, grind was pretty flat for tent camping, and the general "feel" was family friendly. Close enough to a lot of tourist destinations, but far enough away that your aren't feeling that pressure. Definitely on our list of places to camp again. The Lively Acres Store is a gem for local foods and wares.

Very nice campground. Close to Sleeping Bear Dunes, which we were able to visit after setting up. We unfortunately didn't get to check out the store there since we ran out of time. Wanted to reach Ohio by the next day to visit friends. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it highly.
