Lil Black Bear Inn

My wife and I stayed here overnight this past weekend to attend a concert in Nashville. Great lil rustic bed and breakfast and Jim the owner was very welcoming and down to earth. Place was clean, safe and quiet. Do not leave early as you will miss a great homemade breakfast prepared by his wife Jill. My wife said they may be the beat eggs she has ever had. Great place and close to Nashville etc. We will definitely be back again!

2-night stay late in the week in mid-January, while my wife & I were visiting nearby Columbus, IN for a sports event. The innkeeper Jim met us right after we drove up the hill via the property entry driveway from IN-46. He was very friendly & laid back, and that vibe continued throughout our stay at the Inn. Jim showed us our options to access our 2nd floor guestroom (outdoors via wooden ramp & stairs or indoor stairs & passing through the guest gathering space/breakfast dining area), then led us to our room at the back of the building. After that and other than our breakfast chats on Friday & Saturday mornings (house-prepped staples, basic & filling), we were free to settle in & explore/enjoy the property as we wished. We enjoyed our stay very much. On arrival we were shown around the property by our pleasant host Jim. It is quiet but very convenient to Nashville and Bloomington (IU). Our room was clean, bed was comfortable. There were nice tables and chairs right outside our sliding glass door to enjoy the outdoors. Beautiful grounds with a nice pond, very peaceful. Breakfast was at 9:00, fresh, good and filling. Enjoyed talking with the other guests. We would stay again if back this way again.

Great little getaway, stayed one night and will definitely come back! Jim is super friendly and helpful. The guinea are a great touch. Jacuzzi and a fireplace with the beauty of Brown county are incredible. The beds aren't the most comfortable but just get in the hot tub and it'll be fine. Breakfast was delicious and a generous supply of coffee, tea and water!

We had a great visit. The bed was comfortable, room was clean, and breakfast was amazing. Jim and Jill were great hosts and we had a nice visit with the other guests at breakfast.
