Lied Lodge at Arbor Day Farm

We spent one night at the Lied Lodge in mid-February. Overall, it’s a very nice property. The hotel is clean, our room was comfortable and well-kept, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and polite. Service-wise, we truly have no complaints. The setting is beautiful, especially being right next to Arbor Day Farm. I can absolutely see how this would be an amazing place to stay during harvest season or in mid-summer when everything is in full swing. For outdoor fans, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy. However, visiting in the off-season made the experience feel a bit more subdued. While there are still things to do in February, the overall atmosphere felt quieter and somewhat bland compared to what I imagine peak season must offer. The biggest drawback for us was the price

We've stayed three times over the past few years and I was so excited to return. The facilities and grounds are still beautiful but I noticed a decline in cleanliness. I made two trips to the front desk before I got bedding without blood stains or other unknown fluids. Staff did respond quickly and maintenance came immediately when I reported blood stains on the mattress pad. The replacement bedding also had stains, unfortunately. There were smears of something squished on the sheer curtain. |There was quite a layer of dust on the beams in the room and in the lobby, and cobwebs on the lobby beams. |It's still a lovely place but appears to need a deep cleaning, top to bottom. Every aspect of my time at the lodge was 5 star. The facility, grounds and amenities create a personal retreat experience. The trails, fire pit and fireplaces enhanced my stay. The care team provides a very clean, cozy and safe environment. When I stayed it snowed 4 inches plus and walks were cleared and salted promptly. My primary reason for posting a review is because the team who made, severed and attended to all of our meals and snack breaks should be recognized. Our large group was treated to delicious food choices beautifully presented. Every request or need was addressed with graciousness and care. All smiling, I wanted to be certain they were given the praise they deserve.

I’ve had lovely stays at the Lied Lodge in the past, so I was really looking forward to this short getaway. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and the grounds are beautiful and enjoyable to walk. The pool and fitness center were great and very relaxing. Unfortunately, this stay fell short in a few areas. Several staff interactions felt standoffish and, at times, rude, and I experienced less-than-stellar service both in the hotel restaurant and with room service. While most of the food was good, some elements of the meals were mediocre. The spa services were particularly disappointing and not worth the price, and I would not recommend them. I'll try and give a balanced review. First off, our waitress, Madison, at the Library Lounge was exceptional! She was professional, yet friendly. The food was mostly great. The pool and hot tub were also magnificent. Now for the bad: my wife and I were there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, so we wanted a special experience. When we booked the stay dates, my wife also booked for us each a massage at their spa. We showed up at 10 am on 9/22 for our massage sessions, only to find out from the spa attendant that no appointment had been made. So apparently, whomever my wife spoke to at the front desk never bothered to record our appointments in their system. It was our 25th Anniversary! The spa attendant, nor the front desk staff, offered to squeeze us in at the end of the
