Very nice campground with drinkable water, trash and very clean dry toilets. Campground host is very friendly and helpful. Had the campground to ourselves for several days and it has really nice hiking trails right from the campground. We were in the upper part of the campground and I was able to get in with a 44 foot toy hauler. There are about 3 or 4 sites that can accommodate larger trailers.
Decent trails for hiking or biking. Smaller and fairly quiet. Some of the spots lack shade because of necessary logging of damaged timber....but that makes for lots of wood for campfires. Enjoyed our time there!
Try to get a camping spot in the lower campsite for shade and working water. We stayed in the upper lot which is exposed to sun and weather. Nice hosts there. Overall, it was a decent stop along the way.
Lower loop definitely the place to stay. Upper loop was wiped clear of any trees due to an infestation. The campground IS close to the highway. You'll hear the semis and motorcycles. Rest rooms were full of dead flies, garbage, and odor. Not what I would expect from a FS campground. The camphost was never there. Clean sites though.
