Customer Reviews
Lazy Rooster Ranch, just south of Rico, CO, is hands down one of the most scenic and beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. Nestled right along the river, you can hear the water flowing day and night—it’s incredibly peaceful. The off-grid cabins are cozy and thoughtfully designed, and the community kitchen has everything you’d want for a comfortable stay. The fly fishing here is fantastic, and the natural setting makes it feel like a true escape from the busy world. Camp host Jackie was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a unique mountain getaway that combines rustic charm with stunning scenery, Lazy Rooster Ranch is the perfect spot. I’ll definitely be coming back.
My boyfriend and I traveled from Arizona and stayed at Lazy Rooster Ranch, and it was truly a 10/10 experience! Jacque was an amazing host—so warm, welcoming, and attentive. Her sweet dog, Major, was the perfect little greeter, and our own pup, Jax, absolutely loved the place. We stayed in the A-frame cabin right by the river, and it was everything we hoped for—cozy, clean, and perfectly peaceful. The sounds of the river at night were so relaxing, and the whole property felt like a hidden gem. The community kitchen was such a thoughtful touch, making it easy to cook and meet other guests. If you’re looking for a beautiful spot in Colorado that feels like home but with a bit of adventure, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at this serene little place. We camped right next to a creek for 2 nights. It was very private, beautiful, and comfortable site. I felt I had backpacked to the site without having to hike to it. My car was right at the site. My husband and I took the day to visit Ouray (1½ hours away) and Telluride (30 minutes away). This quaint little place has beautiful mountains surrounding it. The drive to the ranch was absolutely breathtaking as well. I loved the little kitchen set up for campers and those saying in the cottages. My husband and I ate at the bar in Rico the first night we were staying at the ranch. My husband and I will certainly come back and much longer next time. This place certainly helped make our honeymoon special. Great hospitality at it
Amazing little place with an incredible view! Jackie is awesome and super accommodating! Good price and the platform you can camp on is great! The location is just south of Rico, which is a hidden gem of a town! Great food at the Enterprise with two amazing little coffee shops. There are even free hot springs in town if you know where to find them ;)
We were so happy with our stay! The cabin is adorable and the creek running alongside made it absolutely stunning. We will return!
