Laurel Point Resort

This is a nice resort located on the mountain above Gatlinburg. It is easily accessible to Gatlinburg by car, but you will not be able to walk due to the distance and lack of shoulders on the very narrow two lane curvy road. ||||The resort amenities both globally and in the individual units are dated, but if you are just looking for a place to stay so you will have easy access to the Great Smokey Mountains NP or shopping in Sevierville it is great.||||Our only bother was the noise from the street coming up the mountain. Unlike other resorts this complex sits on a switchback turn on top of the mountain road to Ober Gatlinburg where lots of traffic flows. It is also not by a stream, so mountain ambiance at any time of the day is not an option.

The only good part was the front desk staff. They were pleasant and proficient in what they were doing. Including helping us get a refund for the week when it was all said and done. A nice resort conveniently located to the GSMNP as well as to downtown Gatlinburg if one wishes to deal with the craziness of the downtown. You can avoid the downtown by using the bypass which is what we did since most of our time was spent in the woods. The one major factor is where your unit is located since there is a considerable difference in the room layout and size as well as the furnishings depending on the building you are in. We have stayed in two different buildings and are amazed at the difference. While it is true that there is traffic noise from Ski Mountain Road, it did not keep us from sitting on our deck every evening. The staff is friendly and welcoming, especially Becca. She was very helpful though busy at the front desk due to a shortage of staff. That said, she

Loved the property and plan apron returning in the future. The location was great, just 5-10 minutes away from downtown Gatlinburg. The unit was big and spacious with great veiws. The only issue was a towel bar had been installed and it keep the bathroom door from closing all the way. And an added bonus was an almost daily Bear Show.

We were in unit A, which is the newest building. The unit was nicely furnished and clean. Comfortable beds. The master had a king size bed and an ensuite. The second bedroom had a twin and what my mom called a 3/4 bed. It was bigger than a twin but smaller than a full size bed. The second bathroom had a door into the bedroom and a door into the hallway. The kitchen had everything we needed. My daughter sat on the balcony every evening and read. The best thing was being so close to the park entrance! Great location! The only negative was that the elevator didn't work for 2 days, which was inconvenient for my 81 year old mom to have to walk up 3 flights of stairs. We did see one bear in the parking lot and one on the drive between the condo and Gatlinburg when we were headed to town for dinn
