I don't know what other people were thinking that didn't give this place five stars. First of all I think it's wonderful that it was quiet and didn't feel like a hotel. Secondly, it was cleaner than any national brand hotel I've ever been in. Thirdly it reminded me of my apartment in Boston. Very sweet atmosphere. Comfortable beds. Wonderful stay!

If I could I would give this place negative stars! Total dump!!! Worth $20/per night tops just to not sleep on the sidewalk outside of the unmarked entrance!! And I don't buy the renovations excuse! Or don't rent out unrenovated dangerous rooms!! Outlets didn't work. Cable wires are strung across the floor causing terrible trip hazards (could easily be addressed). No hot water. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down. Really sad because with the right owners it could be a great place as it has great bones and a great location. Also, definitely needs a front desk attendant at the least.

Kind of nice "no frills" place. It's basically just a bed and bathroom with a mini fridge and microwave. There's no staff onsite, so we had to supply a roll of tp once we ran out. The bathroom is super small. I'm including a picture of how close the toilet was to the wall. If you're above 5.5 feet tall it can be a challenge. And watch your head on the bar of the shower door! Pro tip: allow the shower water to run for about 5 minutes before getting in if you want hot water. One thing that was unpleasant was the odor from the kava bar downstairs. I don't know exactly what it was, I think it's whatever root they use for the tea. Definitely not a pleasant smell

Undergoing massive renovations. I work on the square and often stop in to see the big changes since the new ownership. They have a few new rooms finished, newly remodled- I would ask for one of those. The old ones are very historic and the new ones are sleek, modern and sparkly new. I give the new rooms a 5 star, the staff is non 24/7 but they are on call if you need anything.

Second floor was very noisy with people coming in for the evening. I was frustrated with the lack of courtesy by other guests. One apparently locked his room key in the room causing loud phone conversations and breaking into the room. Bed was worn out as well as linens. Since I only stayed one night I had the misfortune to spend $89. for the stay. The crowning touch was when I got into my car to leave, I had received a parking ticket as I parked overnight in a spot that was NO PARKING 2-6AM. That warning was not posted anywhere, so that's an additional $10.00. Only plus was location. I was on foot during my stay and I enjoyed all the wonderful encounters I had with merchants, locals and other visitors. Next time, I will forego this Landmark Inn
