Landers House

This is a nice B&B by the pedestrian downtown of Utica. Starved Rock and Matthiessen Parks are only a few minutes drive. Bruce and Ollie’s Ice Cream is on the same block. We got takeout and enjoyed it on the screen porch of our cottage. The cottage was very clean and quiet. It had a coffee maker fridge and microwave as well as a nice spa tub. Booking by phone was very easy - we were given information on how to park which was helpful. Breakfast was hot, on time and very tasty. They asked for our dietary restrictions which was appreciated. Recommend!

We spent 1 night in their basic room with a king sized bed and ensuite bathroom. Very comfortable! The location is just a short wald from several restaurants, 2 coffee shops and a winery’s wine tasting room. All of these are in a renovated downtown with a dedicated walking street. There is a nearby rail line, but we were not disturbed by rail traffic. A locomotive was parked overnight on a siding, but the engine rumble did not disturb us.

We planned a last minute trip to Utica. Our stay at Lander's House was amazing. The room or should I say house we stayed in slept 6. It was huge. So spacious. Absolutely beautiful. It had everything we needed. Full kitchen, living room and an outside deck with seating and an area for bonfires. Total cost for us $250. If you were to split that between 3 couples you're practically paying nothing for a great evening! We visit Utica at least 2-3 times a year so we have now found our new place to stay! One block away from all the restaurants and bars!!!

What a great place to stay! The cottage was perfect for a couples getaway. Very clean, check and out was keyless and super easy. They are right around the corner from the main strip in town with great place to shop and eat. Definitely a must stay and well be back again. The only small issue was the refrigerator and freezer are tiny. We brought a large cooler with ice since there is no ice on the property. Highly recommend this place.

Very convenient to downtown shops and dining. Bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. We didn’t have time to enjoy the firepit, but wish we could have! The area is beautiful in the Fall.
