Lamb's Resort & Campground

This was our first stay at Lamb’s Resort. We had site #25 for four nights with a 28 foot travel trailer. The site was beautiful, very private, surrounded by trees and spacious. It had a nice fire ring and picnic table for us to use. We had a very friendly chipmunk that kept visiting us, which our kids loved! The only downside was the site is uneven and hookups aren’t in convenient places. The power was too far for our cords to reach, so we ended up making a trip to Duluth for an extension. The resort sits right on Lake Superior and they have a private beach for guests. The shower house was clean and well cared for. They even have big outdoor sinks for tent campers to wash their dishes! There are plenty of spots on the north shore for camping, so save your time and skip this one. Because it's literally 100% unavailable every year. I tried to book a lakeside camping spot for the second YEAR in a row, but I was denied both times. I was informed that they are always 100% booked by people who stayed the year before. Current customers get to book more more than half a year before the general public, so unless your parents have a spot here that they are going to will to you, you're out of luck. Keep looking! The cherry on top is that the person you will speak with on the phone is very rude and dismissive. You won't enjoy a vacation here, so just keep looking!

I am hesitant to give a glowing review as this is a difficult campground to get into. LOL. One of our favorite campground locations in any state. If you are looking for a flat wide open spaces, this is not the place for you. While the sites themselves are flat the topography around them is not. The rest of the campground slopes down to the lake. Offering some great views of the lake, even on some sites that are not right on the lake. The sites are cozy and secluded. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are great hiking trails up the Cross River and there are trout in the Cross River. The Schroeder baking company that is on site is fantastic. They offer pastries, cookies, coffee, pizza, sandwiches and more. But our favorite are their calzones.

Great location for camping. Cabins are available, as are RV sites, we went tent camping. Basic showers and a restroom with flush toilets are available. They are kept pretty clean and maintained, especially for campground facilities. A playground and dog park are located on site as well. The highlight of the campground is the beautiful shoreline and beach available to all campers (some campsites do include shoreline).

We had a very nice time at lambs. Check-in was easy, the two gals out front were extremely funny. We were there three days ago on our trip up to see the tall ships in Duluth, and very few mosquitoes, and as always the breeze coming off lake superior was very nice for sleeping. 10 o’clock give or take the campground went completely silent, which was awesome. Bathrooms and showers very clean and well maintained. Easy access to the beach, just a couple miles to some really good restaurants. Overall had a very nice time, thank you.
