Lakeside Inn

Just got home from a 4 day stay at the lakeside inn. Here is my experience. The hotel isnt any older than all the other buildings around it, the sign is a little cheesy, but the hotel was great. ALL THE STAFF were great and super friendly. The rooms were CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. The views were top of the line and the price was the best around Salem. The bathroom was clean and updated, and the size of the bathroom was no different than the 900 dollar a night suite I had prior to staying at the lakeside. The lake was awesome and the bar/restaurant had the best food around. Very tasty, while you watch a live band perform great music. THANKS TO ALL AT THE LAKE SIDE INN FOR MAKING MY VACATION COMFORTABLE!!

Lastly, if you are booking somewhere with a free breakfast because you are looking forward to it, this is not your place. They offered watered down sunny D, water, one type of muffin, bread, cereal, potatoes, gritty watery scrambled eggs, and some kind of “French toast casserole”. Not a yogurt or a meat choice in sight, with a big sign asking you not to bring breakfast to your room. That may be common- but in my opinion I should be allowed to bring back my children or mother a meal if they don’t want to come to the dining room, and if we are responsible enough to order takeout to our room then we must be responsible enough to have a light breakfast as well. DO NOT STAY HERE. BEDBUGS BEWARE!!!! This facility has bed bugs. I stayed from 10/19-10/22. Management has avoided the situation at all costs and is extremely unprofessional. I did not want to write a review but I do not want others to have to endure what I have went through due to their dirty rooms. Not only did our vacation get ruined from this incident but for over a week and a half we have been suffering from bed bug bites which are extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable! Upon searching the room, bed bugs and their larvae were found along with blood streaks on the sheets from the bugs. When we arrived the rooms were dirty with hairs all over the bathroom and bedding and used soaps in the bathroom. I looked past that but when we woke up with bites all over us I knew something was wrong

Stayed here for multiple nights due to the easy access to Boston. The website seemed to show a good value hotel but the stay was horrendous. The rooms are very small and old. The bedding was not clean and there was a strong smell of sweat on the duvet. The pillow case was 100% used and dirty. There are only sheets on the bed so it was literally freezing in the room even in late summer. Breakfast was appalling and just bread and a toaster with some inedible burgers. The walls are very thin and internal and external noise is not ideal and there were two nights without any sleep which made us feel so unwell. If this hotel was renovated and a nice lounge area added it could be a good stay.

This was the perfect affordable stay near Salem! Yes, the rooms are old and not much to write home about, but they're inexpensive, comfortable, and you get a great view of a gorgeous lake. Plus the surrounding neighborhood felt quiet, safe, and cute, with tons of people and families walking on the trails and enjoying the outdoors. The lovely gentleman at the front desk allowed me to check in way earlier than I expected for a small fee (as they had the availability), which was a godsend as I had just gotten off a redeye flight. This allowed me to make the most of my trip as I was able to take a nap and actually had the energy to go out and walk around Salem in the evening! Would definitely come back here.
