Lakes Motel

I'm in need of rental accommodations for 4-6 weeks to manage the deaths of my mother and sister. Listed as a long-term rental motel, I called lakes motel. The man who answered was awful. After twice staying that I was looking for long-term, he repeatedly interrupted to passionately restate that there were no overnight rates. I calmly restated that it would be a minimum of a month, and he cruelly instructed me step by step to use my "smart phone, with a thing called a map" to find a place. Again; this is the only long term rental on maps as well as the one recommended by the funeral home for location. Instead I was belittled and openly mocked. Tldr; no humanity in that human. Gas lit.

I look for places to stay that don't cost a lot. I don't prefer the big name hotels that all look alike. The lakes motel fit that bill. The room was large, with a tv and old comfortable chair to sit in to watch it. The beds were mismatched, but comfortable. There was coffee in the room to make out own in the morning. It had everything we needed, but nothing was fancy. The owner had run the business for many years. As another reviewer said, Lindell's across the street is an antique gem to see, and the service and breakfast we had was good.

We really enjoyed out stay. Felt very safe. The motel is dated, small room, the tub did not drain quick, old furniture, but it was clean. Great historic cafe across the street. Room was $55 a night, which was posted outside the hotel. I would recommend it.

For a small Motel, this place is the bomb. Location: Just a skip up the road from a beach/park , directly across the street from a diner, a convenience store only a block away and several nearby taverns. Hospitality: This Elderly woman will make you breakfast in the morning if your hungry! Quality: Nice country style clean rooms with microwave and lil fridge's to boot! . I really enjoyed my stay! I will be frequenting more often I am sure.

Hard pass on this place. We only stayed long enough to see that there was hair and what looked like bits of fecal matter on the toilet, and a wad of hair around a marble in the sink. If the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, we had zero confidence that the bedding had been changed. I'm all for minimalism, but it *has* to be clean.
