Lake of the Woods Campground

If you will need a reliable cell signal or a decent WiFi connection you do NOT want to stay in this campground. Our cabin was pretty new and things worked nicely, but we had to sweep the floor upon our arrival. Water heater is good for almost one shower. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and utensils and there were plenty of clean towels, etc. The thermostat was a bit wonky (too hot or too cold). The dog park was a nice bonus. We experienced a rodent problem near the end of our stay (got into some packaged cookies).

This would be a nice campground except for the layout. All non seasonal sites are ,"awning to awning " or what is known as buddy sites. So you are face to face, sharing a common area. Our firepit was just a few feet from the site facing us. No way both groups could sit comfortably around it without being in the way of the other group. Also no clear paths. We constantly had people, both young and old walking though the middle of our site. Sometimes between the table and our RV. We did confront several but each weekend a new group would show up and start walking into our site. Just during the time I wrote this, 4 kids and 3 adults walked through. Loose dogs another problem. The campground really needs a few more rules and some people who cruise around to enforce them. Will not stay

The staff and cleanliness of everything is above and beyond. Super freindly staff. Food is out of this world

Grounds where not taken care for. Lots of dead trees and branches hanging down into the roads and into sites. Swimming pond was full of grass and algae, did not look anything like the photos. Power on our site was not enough to run my ac unit and ac unit of the camper next to me at the same time. It was popping the breakers in our campers and on the post. For how expensive it is a night we were expecting a nice well kept campground. Unfortunately we will not be returning or recommending this campground to our camper groups. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Original sites we had were not going to work for us, staff let us move to a new site.

Great staff, very friendly. Let us move campsites! But campground was so run down, dead trees, pond didn’t look like the pictures we didnt even actually swim in it, it looked so gross. We didn’t get enough power at the site to run both our ac units at the same time, kept popping the breaker. For over $100 a night you’d think the upkeep would be better. Very disappointed and won’t be returning. So much potential but just wasn’t there.
