Lake Norman Inn and Suites

I will never, ever stay here again. Front desk female staff are very unfriendly, highly unhelpful and rude (Dominique) The cleaning staff do an excellent job but due to construction, things have been damaged. In my room the TV looked like it had been dunked in sand. The bathroom toilet seat wasn't properly installed and the surface was covered in a substance that felt like sand paper. There were stains in the bathroom tub due to construction. When I arrived at my room I went to lie down on my bed to rest and was eye to eye with a big bug on my pillow case staring back at me. The morning breakfast is not worth getting up for. The entrance way inside the hotel is an eye sore due to a vehicle running into it. The staff were very nice and responsive to guest questions and needs. The price per night was really reasonable. The only downsides is that they are currently renovating and the parking lot seems a bit small. A little noisy and dusty in the halls. Our room didn't have a smoke detector and the hot and cold water in the shower was backwards. The breakfast was decent, the coffee was good. We will definitely consider another stay if and when we are in the area.

Although it was large, most of the space was empty, with exposed wiring and minimal furniture. The bed frame was falling apart, and the mattress was old, sunken in, and missing a protector — leaving visible stains from who knows what. The bedding was extremely worn and dirty. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, and while the floors looked recently replaced, they were still covered in hair, crumbs, and dirt. We were completely deceived by a reviewer who posted pictures of what must have been a renovation — because what we walked into was the exact opposite. Stop your hotel search and book this spot now!! My family was pleasantly surprised that what was once a 2 start hotel has now been transformed into a luxurious 5 star hotel with single star pricing! Brenda was super nice to us at the front desk, rooms were clean and fresh, and the lobby upgrades and breakfast were pleasant. My autistic child Jeremy loved the new chandelier!! Seriously, this spot won’t let you down!

RUN AWAY! On arrival, the front sign was on the ground and the front entrance overhang was caution-taped due to someone hitting the roof. In the lobby we were greeted by large boxes wrapped in cling wrap and bare wires sticking out of the walls. There was a smell I can only describe as nursing-home-esque when walking down the hall to the room. The room had fresh bedding and towels, but otherwise had obviously not been cleaned in a long time. It smelled of cigarette smoke and broken promises. The tub was stained and hair was stuck to the wall. The toilet was also stained and had an air of Taco Bell buyers remorse.
