This is my favorite snow park with 2 restrooms It is remote and not full of other people. You have to hike a bit to find private places to sled. We love to make our own sled runs and have exclusive access all day. It is worth the hike to have a peaceful and quiet place to play in the snow and be with nature during the winter.

Lots of options here. Sledding, x-country skiing, snowshoeing. It’s also popular with the snowmobile crowd, but if you want to get away from that noise and smell you can head off the main road to more peaceful places. Don’t forget to get a permit before you head up!

Need to purchase permit in advance. Limited parking space (less than 20 spots for full-size vehicle). Although one can still park on CA-4, parking could be challenging and law enforcement is in place for citations (No Parking signs are set near the winter closure gate) This Sno-Park is more for older kids and snowmobile activity. Need a little walk to campground area to find a better slope for sledding. When snow is still fresh in early January, it could be challenging for small children to go uphill. Walking distance to winter closure gate on CA-4.

This Sno-Park is just north of Spicer Sno-Park but a lot busier. We ended heading north from Spicer Sno-Park for about 10 mins, because I had read that there would be more snow at Lake Alpine. Indeed their was more snow, but not by much. Lake Alpine had more natural slopes for Sledding. Kids had a great time. Rangers were at the Park entrance asking for Permits. Order online and print at home, or just show on phone. $15 for one day or $45 from November until end of May.

Very beautiful 😍 and easy to do one day trip . Lots of fresh snow and good places to have fun with friends and family and everything is FREE and safe to do .. just buy a one day parking permit for the snow park and park anywhere in parking or road side and enjoy tubing, 🎿.. 2:30 Hrs drive from bayarea and small patch of winding road but manageable. Mostly no need of snow chains but better to keep .small towns in-between the drive for food and gas refill. Many restrooms but not manage well . Lots of places to play with fresh snow , book lesson to learn 🎿 . For snow lovers this is the best one day easy trip .
