Laguna Mountain Lodge & Store

Me and my family have being coming to this store since 1994 when we camped on Mt Laguna. Yes for decades. It’s a wonderful store with all the necessities you could need and some more. The staff has always been professional and polite.

Living in San Diego, we grabbed the chance to drive 40 minutes, be at 6,000 feet in 14 inches of snow last winter. We stayed in Cabin 7, which had heat, a two burner hot plate, small refrigerator, a fire place with wood provided, small table and chairs, two lamps, a daybed, a clean bathroom with plenty of hot water, bedroom with clean sheets, blankets, and comfortable but a bit creaky bed. We are in our 70s but played in the snow and had a good time in our cozy cabin with icicles dangling from the eaves. We considered it an elegant step up from camping. The owners were no nonsense, pleasant people who were very helpful. The store is the social hub and had a plentiful supply of all basic goods. Horrible service by grumpy old men. Everything is too expensive. I would not recommend this place at all. Worst experience ever. Hope the 1 star helps people to stay away from this place.

READ THIS REVIEW - I have stayed here many many times without any issues. My wife and I absolutely love it! Yes, it’s rustic. That is what makes it unique and enjoyable. If you want something with all the modern amenities then you probably shouldn’t be staying on the mountain anyway. The rooms are clean and come with a nice size fridge, microwave and FIREPLACE! Go and unplug! Yes, I’m suggesting that you put your phone away and go enjoy the charm and natural surroundings that this place offers. And by the way, the guys that run it are very friendly and accommodating. They deal with tons of city slickers on a daily basis that think they own the place. Don’t be a jerk and you’ll get along just fine. Thanks for keeping it real guys! I always enjoy my time up there.

Came away with a large bottle of apple pie spiced cider. Came away in general.
