La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Winnie

We stopped here for one night on a road trip from California to Tennessee. It's a great location for a quick stop. Good parking and security for trucks/trailers. We appreciated that our two cats were welcome. Very friendly staff and breakfast was good. Just know that the rooms are fairly run down. My room had several issues. Toilet didn't want to flush. Missing light bulbs in lamps. Torn wall paper and damage to walls. Shampoo/conditoner bottles had ripped off the shower wall. My sheets had red stains on them. If you can get past all that, it was comfortable and a great value.

This facility is in a state of disrepair. Toilet in 1st room wouldn’t flush. Desk clerk tried to tell me how to fix it. I said it was their responsibility. Was finally asked if I’d like another room. The second room had several cracked tiles and the installation job was so bad shark corners stuck up. There were only 5 or 6 cars in the parking lot but they didn’t have extra King rooms on the 1st floor. When we left the next morning there were only 3 cars in the parking lot. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. LaQuinta needs to pull their franchise until they bring the facility up to reasonable standards.

Positive: That it was close to the interstate Negative: No remote for the tv, when I asked for one I was told they would bring me one. I waited 45 minutes for one and I was told "oh I forgot" Then the toilet wouldn't flush at all. He said he would have someone look at it and there was one in the hall.

When we first walked in the smell of a strong air freshener almost made me sick. The person behind the desk would have rather been anywhere but here. Get into the elevator and its in need of repair. Cigarette butts are on the floor. We get out of the elevator and a musty smell about knocks you down. The room had the musty smell but not as bad. By this time it was late and we wanted to go to bed. The sheets looked clean and the bed was comfortable. The water pressure was nonexistent and the bathroom was in need of repair. Overall it was better than sleeping in the car.

The location was convenient in my travel and the place was clean and well cared for. The customer service helped tremendously. The greatest benefit was that it was close to a very fine restaurant making getting a hearty meal a pleasure. It is important to any traveler, even if the room is pristine, that a good meal is easily accessible by a short walk. This location is great for that.
