La Maison Sur Le Hill Bed & Breakfast

We stayed at the La Maison sur le Hill for a portion of a tandem bike tour along the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. This is a very nice garden-like property and is well cared for. The rooms are nicely done and were clean. We stayed in the loft, which is above the garage. This loft is actually a large rectangular shaped room -- it was roomier than I expected. ||||When we arrived, Alex and Susan offered us cheese and grapes - a nice touch. We spent a fair amount of time just chatting with our hosts as they are both very personable. ||||Breakfast was very good and definitely worth planning for in the morning. ||||Our one regret is that we didn't stay in THIS B&B longer. Charming hosts, delicious breakfast, and a very charming setting. The landscaping in the front of the main house is lovely. They greeted us with a glass of wine and had some suggestions for places to eat dinner. But we ended up going to the 1313 Club in Wallace. A trip down memory lane for my husband who consulted with the Lucky Friday Mine many years before. Kellogg is a little down on its luck right now, like so many small towns. All the more worth visiting lest they all die out and we are left with nothing but big cities and chain restaurants and stores. We were mainly there to do the Hiawatha Trail, and it was so much fun. What a wonderful place to stop! We arrived early evening and everything was ready--the grounds are beautiful and Susan and Alex are wonderful hosts. The cottage was perfect and the iced drinks so appreciated! We slept wonderfully and then woke to a delicious breakfast served in our host's home. What a relaxing time. Perfect way to start our road trip!

We stayed in the Loft apartment which was very nicely decorated. Breakfast was very nice, featuring the hosts' pastries (they previously owned a bakery in Arizona). The stay was very pleasant. The only glitch occurred when we didn't have hot water in the morning. The owners found the problem and fixed it almost immediately.||||We were cycling the Trail of the Coeur D'Alene and the B & B was located only about two blocks from the trail. Our Hosts were bicycle friendly and allowed us to keep our bikes in the room

Absolutely one of the best places we have stayed . We arrived late evening and they were very accommodating and super sweet. The grounds a beautiful and peaceful and they had a wine and cheese plate waiting for us. So worth the money. Thank you for a beautiful evening of reconnecting and relaxing in advance.
