Kingfisher Inn

We have reached our breaking point with the lack of communication from this resort. We want to know if now that the property is back open if someone is going to start answering emails. We have been waiting for responses from both the front desk and the board for months and have received nothing but silence. The way they ignore owners is unacceptable. We have been patient, but the lack of a reply after so much time is a sign of how this place operates. We advise anyone looking to stay here to seriously reconsider your choice. This is how they treat people after they have been lied to for so long.

We have always enjoyed staying in the penthouse for years when we would come to Garden City. I understand a little price increase each year but this year is ridiculous! They want $4,000 a week for non peak season and $5,000 a week for peak season. They are pricing themselves out of loyal long time customers. We found a room at The Seawatch right across the street for $1200 a week. We don’t have a penthouse view of the ocean and the pier but we are just a few minutes walk away and we still get to visit all of our favorite restaurants that we enjoy. The rooms look much nicer and are updated too. Goodby Kingfisher. It was fun until you got too greedy.

This was a surprise last min stay and it did not disappoint. There was construction going on but that did not bother us. Everything was very clean, the refrig even had an ice maker and there were tons of towels left neatly folded in a basket so didn't have to ask for linens. We promptly got responses if we called front desk. We were right beside the pier which was awesome. Very clean and updated! Will be back! Great place to stay!! C Clark/T Hutchins

The room was clean upon arrival. The water pressure was good in the shower. The view to see and hear the ocean is great.  This hotel is lacking amenities!!! Pool under reconstruction, no ice machine on site, no restroom in lobby. Ice cream shop was completely gone. (Unknown until arrival.)Access to the beach was to walk through the dune-jungle. In order to watch the TV required your personal Netflix/Amazon/Etc credentials?? Could not figure out how to watch anything. Local news channels were non-existent. National news channels that were free, aired the prior day...? Smokers were required to smoke in the parking lot, otherwise "Big Brother" will fine you $250.00. Okay accommodations, but for the price, probably will not return.

Staying here now. Convenient location, the staff is friendly. However it is pretty dated, the balcony is so small you can’t even stand on it. Also I have called twice about our room smelling like cigarette smoke and nothing has been said or done. I am pregnant and it is the last thing I want to be smelling. Besides the fact this is supposed to be a smoke free building…
