Kimpton Hotel Palomar Los Angeles Beverly Hills

We recently stayed at this hotel while in los Angeles. The hotel is actually about a half hour drive from downtown, but is located in a beautiful residential area perfect for an evening walk.|The rooms are spacious, modern and well appointed with a mini fridge and contemporary furniture.|We enjoyed dining at the hotel restaurant Double Take for dinner and breakfast. It is located off of the Lobby but is still quiet and comfortable. |The lobby is also a comfortable space with plenty of seating, a fireplace and classic movies playing .|There is a nice evening hosted reception poolside with wines and appetizers.|The overnight parking fee is pretty steep at $52, although there are secure garages nearby for less |There is also a daily amenity fee of $52. |This is the perfect location for a vis

Where do I even start with this review? This hotel is NOT a luxury hotel. It’s dated, dingy and dirty. Cards don’t work to take you to your room on the elevator. The minute I walked in the door I had the ick. Parking is quite expensive, the room is absolutely and undoubtably overpriced. The air is somewhat nonexistent because the room is set to 68 degrees and it’s hot in here. You can hear everything that goes on in the hallway including every time someone opens or closes their door, walks by or even talks. The air conditioner sounds like a jackhammer. Usually upscale/luxury hotels have a system in place where people cannot open the shampoo, conditioner or body soap in the shower…not here, it’s a free for all and who knows what’s in those bottles. First time staying in this hotel in LA! Decent and great location! Cleanliness is not bad (compared to a lot of hotels in LA) and concierge's very helpful and friendly.

I redeemed 90,000 IHG points for one night at this hotel. The cash rate for that night was close to $500, so I believed the room had been fully covered by points. At checkout, however, I was charged an additional $112.94. About $50 of that was for parking and tax, which I understand since I brought a car. But the rest included a $37 “amenity fee,” a $14.75 “hotel workers protection surcharge,” as well as several other small, strange miscellaneous charges. I have stayed at many IHG properties, and I have never experienced a situation where, after redeeming points for a stay, I was still presented with such a large additional bill at checkout. Wow. First off stunning hotel and beautiful room. Very clean and excellent service all the staff are so kind and incredible, they go above and beyond. Especially Bridgett, the front office manager, she is probably one of the kindest people I have ever met and went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed. I stay at hotels all the time and never have I ever been helped so professionally and kindly with such amazing service than I was with Bridgett. She is incredible! All round fabulous customer service and that really makes your stay fabulous. Thank you Bridgett!
