Jordan Hotel, Sunday River

A charming lodge built in the middle of mountains made for an attractive location on an autumn driving trip between Maine and Vermont. The staff at the front desk were welcoming, the beds comfortable, and the massage I had booked ahead of time was really great (Danielle). Be aware however that there is no restaurant on site so either a 4–mile or 30-mile round trip to the restaurants listed on their website is necessary to eat at a sit down restaurant. There is a “cafe” offering tea, coffee and sandwiches from a counter. The views in autumn were stunning; this appears to be a “ski resort”, so perhaps now is not really the season here. It’s hard to beat the convenience of the ski in/ski out location at the Jordan! Beautiful hotel with a great breakfast buffet. The gym and sauna were also very nice. Front desk and valet staff were all friendly and helpful. Would have liked the gift shops to be open a little later in the day, the one day we got back from snowboarding thinking we had time to shop, but the shops were already closed even though the website said they were open. The only real negative was that our room smelled like cigarettes. Housekeeping came in and sprayed the carpet but the smell permeated everything in the room regardless.

Great resort. Wonderful experience for us as a family, especially for the kids. The amenities are great. Their service is wonderful. They had a minor issue with the buses that shuttle to the ski site and created a small hiccup, but we could feel that they're dealing with it and doing the best they can and sometimes it's more than enough... We enjoyed it last year. We enjoyed it this year and we'll probably enjoy it next year...

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how beautiful, clean, and welcoming this hotel was. The rooms were spotless, the beds incredibly comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well cared for — truly one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. What really made our experience special was the staff. Every single person we met was genuinely friendly, smiling, and eager to go out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Their warmth and kindness made us feel right at home. I’ve lived in New England my entire life, and this was hands down our best stay anywhere in the region. Thank you to the entire team for making our anniversary so memorable. We’re already looking forward to coming back! 💕

Delaney, Jodi, and Greg made our stay here feel more like time spent at a family estate rather than a “3-star” hotel. The convience and location make this the easiest access in and out of Sunday River, but it’s the staff that make the stay here easily the best choice. Their willingness to go above and beyond for their guests rivals experiences such as the Ritz - Boston which was highly unexpected for the price point or 3 star hotel suggestion by Google. They were able to call shuttles for us, accommodate us last second & make our initial stay a memorable and highly positive experience. Between the ambiance, location, and Delaney, Jodi, and Greg who make up the amazing staff we’ve worked with here, we definitely plan to book with the Jordan Hotel again.
